White Lupine Peptide
A natural history
The white lupin is an ancient Mediterranean legume that lifts tall spires of pale flowers above its leaves. Its protein rich seeds, the lupini beans, have nourished people around the Mediterranean and Aegean for thousands of years, brined and eaten as a beloved snack from Greece to Italy to Spain.
That same protein rich seed now enjoys a refined second life on the dressing table. From the white lupin come gentle, plant based peptides, prized as a clean, vegan way to support the look of firmer, smoother skin.
What it does for your skin
Peptides from the white lupin are studied for supporting the skin's firming matrix. In a study on photoaged human skin, a cream whose actives included white lupin peptides was associated with renewed deposition of fibrillin and procollagen, the building blocks of firm, elastic skin.[1] In laboratory work, a lupin seed extract helped rebalance the enzymes that otherwise break down collagen and elastin.[2] In a formula it is a gentle, plant based way to support the look of firmer, smoother skin.
